Excellence and Joy

Des Moines Prep offers a learning experience that’s rooted in excellence and joy. It’s who we are at our core.

Upon graduation, our students have many ways to showcase their excellence, including:

• A minimum of two acceptance letters from best-fit colleges
• A senior capstone project demonstrating their ability to transfer knowledge and skills into the community
• A portfolio of work that demonstrates the leadership skills and habits they have developed
• A comprehensive 5 year post-graduation plan grounded in the student’s aspirations

We also ensure students experience joy by providing the freedom to explore who they want to be. We support this through:

• A dedicated advisor who supports the student throughout their time at Des Moines Prep, providing daily checks-in and consistent guidance
• 40+ hours of college exploration (e.g. college visits; dual enrollment)
• 40+ hours of internship and/or job shadowing experiences
• 40+ hours of community service experience
• 40+ hours of co-curricular participation in robust sports and club offerings
